Vigil for 2000 Killed in Iraq

This week, the number of American soldiers lost while serving in Iraq reached over 2000. While thousands of families have made the ultimate sacrifice, thousands more send their children and loved ones off to a war that seems to have no end in sight.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. we will gather for a vigil to acknowledge our fallen soldiers and reflect on the war in Iraq. The vigil will be held at the Greenpoint Reformed Church, 136 Milton St. in Brooklyn. You can sign up here.

Light a candle in the hope for a brighter future and an end to the war in Iraq. We will gather together for a time of silent rememberance of all those who have died for this war and for those who still serve in the military. The building is warm and we'll have coffee available and possibly other refreshments (feel free to bring some if you like). Please bring a candle, preferably in a glass container.

I wish I could be there, Ann. I posted my own anger over this today. God Bless your vigil.

BTW, I like the new photo.
