Transit strike yields cool photo
The transit strike meant that most students couldn't take their exams. For the folks on Milton Street, that meant that both Jen and Vanessa had to forgo their finals.
Yesterday, though, Vanessa needed to grab some of her books from the law school, so I offered to drive her into Manhattan. We went late to avoid traffic, but still managed to get stuck on the 59th Street Bridge. While stopped, I managed to shoot this photo of the Silvercup sign in Long Island City.

That is such a cool picture. Looks like it belongs to a Gothom City back drop in the Batman movies.
Yeah, it's quite Gotham to say the least. One of the benefits of living outside of Manhattan is that we get strange views of big signs that line the East River. The one that's actually closest to the church is the Dominos Sugar one, but the font for Silvercup is really nice. It used to be a bakery, now it's a stuido lot.
